ABOUT JSCC

WHAT TO EXPECT

When you come to Jefferson St church, we do our best to provide a genuine ministry possible for every age from newborn babies to the oldest and most mature. Whether you need a warm hug, a brand-new Bible or someone to pray over you, we are ready to serve you right when you walk into our doors. Our purpose is for you to experience the love of the Lord and through that, establish a relationship with Him.

CHILDREN AND YOUTH

Our Hobbs church family does not believe in baby-sitting your children. From the time you enter to the time you leave our building, we will be listening to and learning the Word of God in the best way possible for each age group. Your children will be given tools they need to know God and understand what He has specifically designed just for them. There are a lot of Hobbs churches in Hobbs, NM to choose from, we want you to know that we not only want your child to have fun, but more importantly, come to know the Lord. That is our highest priority (Deuteronomy 6:4-9).

ADULT MINISTRY

Our services begin with praise and worship...it is heartfelt, it is passionate and definitely not for entertainment. Our desire is to prepare our hearts to receive the Word of God as we give glory to our God and Savior Jesus the Christ.

Every Sunday we also provide special Bible classes for you to attend as you continue to grow as a believer. Our classes are relevant, informative, filled with discussion and most importantly, are filled with God’s Word.

WORSHIP

We start each morning with the reading of scripture and prayer; this helps us to focus on our praise and worship of God. Our music ministry is filled with all of our voices singing with one heart to God. Can’t sing “good?” No worries, our hearts are what make a beautiful sound to God! We know that our singing, prayers and the reading of scripture prepares us to the central focus of our worship, communion.

Communion is the remembering of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. This is the center and heart of our worship. You do not have to be a member of our church to participate in this solemn moment, but you do need to be a Christian. As we participate together in such a beautiful event, time is given to fully reflect upon all that the Lord has done, is doing, and will do for His people (1 Corinthians 11:23-29).

Since we cherish learning from God’s word, our minister(s) deliver genuine, bold and honest lessons. They know that the only thing that will produce freedom in your life, is knowing the truth (Ephesians 4:15). At the end of our services if you need special prayer for anything, our ministers or any of our members are always available to you and your family.
